Flying W Diamond Ranch
Registered Black Angus Cattle Operation
Our Legacy, Our Promise
Three generations. One family’s legacy. Raising the finest registered Black Angus cattle in the American Southwest.
Nestled just north of Capitan, New Mexico, in between the Sierra Blanca and Capitan Mountains, Flying W Diamond Ranch has been a proud family-owned and operated cattle operation since Edward R. Tinsley Jr. began the operation in 1957. What started as a respite from the West Texas heat, has grown into a legacy of cattle excellence in the Southern New Mexico Rocky Mountains.
We take great pride in our relentless commitment to genetic quality. We sourced and developed our original registered Black Angus herd from 44 Farms of Cameron, Texas - some of the finest cattle genetics in the United States. Over the last decade, we continue to replenish our herd sires with those same top-notch genetics, and replenish our females with the best of our current year’s calf crop. Our cattle are bred, born, and conditioned right here in New Mexico, then marketed to ranchers across New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas.
We know how important it is to understand where your beef comes from. We’ve learned that first hand as proud owners of the K-BOB’S Steakhouse in Ruidoso, New Mexico. As one of the highest grossing restaurants in the State, we serve every type of American and listen to their feedback along the way. Sustainably raised cattle with always-improving genetics each year ensures that the highest quality beef makes it to our dinner plate. When we say we are living “from the pasture to plate”, we really mean it.
